Hi,
This issue going to touch on a topic that is so sensitive
that I'm too afraid to use an explicit email subject title in order
to prevent my newsletter from going to your junk mail folder.
So, there you have it - 'birds and bees' .... a strong indication of
a 'family friendly' content email that guarantee you to receive it!
Naturally, it will come to a point in time that the question will
pop up by your child "Where do babies come from?" that many
parents dread and few want to answer. Personally, I discussed quite
openly with my kids about the birds and the bees. At times there are
questions that were too hard to answer ....no, not what you think
..... My son asked question like "What happen if two sperms go
into the egg at the same time?” which was a pretty tough
question to answer ...;-)
Anyway, if you have not started telling your kids about sex when he
was around 3 or 4 years you may face some inertia to start
discussion. One of the methods I learn, suggested by expert on the
Internet, is that you may try to break the ice by telling your kids
about sex over phone … no kidding! Just be warned to watch out your
phone bill ...;-) Have a great week ahead!
Thought for today:
" People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances.
The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if
they can't find them, make them. " - George Bernard Shaw

What's our EQ?
The Daily Star Apr 23, 2007
Two factors identify a successful personality - IQ (intelligence
quotient) and EQ (emotional quotient). IQ is constant, and there is
not much we can do about it. However, EQ can be manipulated, and
depends a lot on the environment in which the children are brought
up, on what their parents teach them about life, and so on.

What a brain!
The Star Apr 29, 2007
It goes without saying that maintaining good
health in the mother can only be good for the baby. Pregnant mothers
should have a well-balanced and nutritious diet supplemented with
vitamins. A special mention should be made of folate, one of the B
vitamins. This should be taken before and during pregnancy to
prevent maldevelopment of the brain and spinal cord in the
developing baby.

nutrients.".

Guardian Apr 23, 2007
British scientists are working on a baby formula which would
chemically restructure the metabolic system of children to ensure
they never became obese. Studies in mice have found that large doses
of the appetite-controlling hormone leptin during infancy
permanently prevent excess weight gain and reduce the chances of
type 2 diabetes.

Neurodevelopment & the Environment: Are Vaccines to Blame for Skyrocketing Childhood Illnesses?
American Chronicle Apr 28, 2007
Remarkable controversy exists on the safety and efficacy of
vaccinations in the United States. Research supporting vaccine
safety is scant yet crucial to the well being of every American
citizen. Since 1980 the amount of vaccinations required for children
began to rise quite dramatically. These vaccines contain various
toxicants including thimerosal, a mercury (Hg) containing
neurotoxicant, which may contribute to neurodevelopmental disorders
such as sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), autism, attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and Environmental Illness (EI)
which are all on the rise.
