Duke TIP Admission Criteria
By Inderbir Kaur Sandhu, Ph.D
My son, a fifth-grader (10), scored 99 percent composite. No other
scores were listed on the Duke TiP form that came home. What to
interpret from that score? Thanks!
From your description, it is not clear which test he may have sat for.
However, 99th percentile score in any test is in the highest range.
There are a few criteria for admission, however the main criteria for
acceptance into the TIP programme are:
Scoring at or above the 95th percentile on an accepted grade-level
standardized test, aptitude test, mental-ability test, or state
Scoring 125 or above (full scale or composite) on a standard IQ test
that is no more than two years old.
Do call them up asking for the next step in the application. Good luck!
