IQ Test For Children
By Inderbir Kaur Sandhu, Ph.D
Q:
Is it possible to be able to correctly test a child of 3 years old IQ?
A:
To accurately determine the IQ of individuals of any age group is still
questionable. However, it can be a rough indication and there are signs
that you can look out for. You may want to view the checklist that I
prepared for possible signs of
giftedness, which would relate to higher IQ.
There is also a possibility of a drop in IQ based on age, so it is
hard to say for sure. This is especially so since researches have
indicated that there is a possibility of IQ scores to vary as much as 20
points throughout a person's lifetime! What you may want to do is to look
out for signs of ability and perhaps take a test when the child is older
- a least able to read and write as most standardized test requires the
ability to read.
